EVA offers regular Coaching Clinics featuring guest coaches and local university coaches. These clinics are designed to enhance your coaching experience and foster a community of local coaches. Topics covered include:

What to Expect:
At EVA Coaching Clinics, you’ll participate in on-court, classroom, and video sessions similar to our athlete training. You’ll engage daily with the course director and other coaches, sharing insights during training sessions, post-session debriefs, and in-session coach huddles.

Private & Semi-Private Lessons
Coaches can join an experienced EVA coach in private lessons to learn how to add this valuable service to their resume, suitable for beginner to advanced athletes.
Group Lessons
These sessions focus on multiple skill development and different play styles, helping you train athletes from beginners to advanced levels effectively.
Six Levels of Development
Apprentice Coach: Beginner level, volunteering and learning the profession.
Assistant Coach: Inexperienced coach only qualified to assist a coach. Minimum wage.
Level One Coach: Intermediate-Beginner coach ready to coach Youth Academy and assist at other camps and club teams.
Level Two Coach: Intermediate coach ready to coach Youth Academy and Skills Camps. Can assist at positional Camps, Elite Camps and Club teams.
Level Three Coach: Experienced coach able to coach all camps and 13-15U Club.
Level Four Coach: Experienced coach able to coach all programs.
Curriculum for Each Level of Coaching
Apprentice Coach: Inexperienced-Beginner
- Skills: Basic passing, setting, serving, and spiking techniques.
- Knowledge: Understanding court layout, basic rules, and positions.
- Fitness: Introduction to volleyball-specific conditioning exercises.
- Assessment: Demonstration of basic skills and understanding of rules.
Assistant Coach: Inexperienced-Advanced
- Skills: Improved passing and setting, basic serve reception, introduction to blocking.
- Knowledge: Deeper understanding of game rules, scoring system.
- Fitness: Increased conditioning intensity, introduction to plyometrics.
- Assessment: Skill drills, knowledge quiz on game rules.
Level One Coach: Intermediate-Beginner
- Skills: Consistent serve reception, improved hitting techniques, basic defensive skills.
- Knowledge: Introduction to game strategies, understanding rotations.
- Fitness: Intermediate conditioning, agility drills.
- Assessment: Scrimmage performance, skill and strategy quiz.
Level Two: Intermediate
- Skills: Advanced passing and setting, strategic serving, consistent hitting and blocking.
- Knowledge: Advanced game strategies, team dynamics.
- Fitness: Strength training, advanced plyometrics.
- Assessment: Competitive gameplay, strategic application quiz.
Level Three: Advanced
- Skills: High-level passing, setting under pressure, powerful serving, strategic hitting.
- Knowledge: In-depth game analysis, advanced strategies.
- Fitness: Intense conditioning, injury prevention techniques.
- Assessment: Tournament play performance, comprehensive strategy test.
Level Four: Pre-elite
- Skills: Refined techniques, effective leadership on the court.
- Knowledge: Mental preparation, advanced game psychology.
- Fitness: Peak physical condition, endurance training.
- Assessment: Leadership assessment, mental preparation strategies.
Implementation Steps
- The Curriculum: The EVA has developed detailed training plans for each level of training, including skills, knowledge, and fitness components.
- Assessment Criteria: The EVA has defined clear criteria for skill assessments, knowledge quizzes, and physical fitness tests for each level.
- Training the Coaches: Ensure coaches are well-versed in the training system, the EVA has unique assessment methods.
- Monitoring Progress: The EVA regularly assesses athletes and provide feedback, promoting them to higher levels as they meet the criteria.
- Celebrate Achievement: The EVA holds ceremonies to recognize athletes’ progress and encouraging continued development.
